Privacy Policy
How we handle information when you use the DMCA and trademark generators, purchase a download, or contact support.
This Privacy Policy explains how Takedown Wizard collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use the site.
1. Information We Collect
The free DMCA and trademark generators run locally in your browser. Filling out the form, seeing your notice update live, and copying the free text does not send that content to our servers, unless you use an optional server-side feature such as "email me a copy."
Information you provide directly. If you use the optional "email me a copy" feature, we collect your name, email address, and the text you submit so we can deliver that email. If you purchase a digital download, we collect transaction-related information such as your email address, billing-related details provided by Stripe, the product purchased, the amount, and the date of the transaction.
Information collected automatically. We may collect technical information such as IP address, device type, browser type, pages viewed, referral source, and interactions with the site, including campaign tracking parameters (such as utm_source) if you arrive through a tagged link.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the site.
- Deliver generated copies you request.
- Process payments and deliver digital products.
- Send transactional messages, support responses, and account-related notices.
- Send marketing emails only if you separately opt in to receive them.
- Measure traffic, performance, conversions, and campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain accounting, bookkeeping, fraud-prevention, and legal records.
3. Email Communications and Opt-Out
If you choose to receive tips and updates, we may send occasional marketing emails to the address you provide. You can opt out at any time using the link in any marketing email. Transactional messages, such as purchase confirmations, delivery notices, and support replies, may still be sent even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails.
4. Third-Party Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the site. AdSense and similar advertising partners may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to deliver, measure, and personalize ads. You can manage ad preferences through Google's Ads Settings.
5. Payment Processing
Paid downloads are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers or security codes on our servers. Stripe processes payment information according to its own privacy and security practices, and we receive limited transaction details necessary for order fulfillment, accounting, fraud prevention, and support.
6. Disclosure of Information
We may share information with: service providers that help us operate the site, such as hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, and support tools; advertising partners, including Google AdSense, to the extent needed to serve and measure ads; professional advisors such as accountants, attorneys, or auditors; government authorities or courts when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security; and a buyer or successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our third-party providers may use cookies, tags, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, analyze performance, and deliver advertising. You can usually set your browser to block cookies, but some features of the site may not work correctly if you do.
8. Data Retention
We retain purchase records, email signup records, support correspondence, and related transaction data for as long as reasonably necessary for accounting, bookkeeping, tax, legal, fraud-prevention, and operational purposes. Even if you request deletion, we may retain information where retention is required or permitted by law.
9. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain information about you, and to opt out of certain advertising or data-sharing practices. To make a request, contact us through the Contact Support page.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Some countries set a higher age for children's online privacy protections; if a different age applies in your jurisdiction, please do not use the site without a parent or guardian's involvement. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
12. International Users
If you access the site from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of the site after a revised policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
